Video conference meeting using Jitsi at https://meet.jit.si/KohaDocumentationMeeting

  • We are using an (open source) video conference platform for the discussion part of this meeting. You don't have to turn your camera on if you prefer not to be seen; but if you are able to use a mic it should make our conversations a lot easier!
  • To join the meeting, click on the meeting link. If you are on a desktop computer, it will open in a browser window; no need to install anything. To join on a mobile device, you will need to download the Jitsi Meet app (from Google Play; from Apple Store).
  • Browsers will ask for permission to use video and audio devices: check or review these settings if you have audio or video issues.
  • Supported browsers | Mobile application

We will use the #koha IRC channel (IRC server irc.oftc.net) to record the meeting minutes, including #info and #action information. Feel free to login there too (if you don't have an IRC client you can use your web browser.)

Documentation workflow: issues and ideas

  1. From Koha 23.11, there will be one Koha Manual for 23.11 and future versions (see Bug 34955). We need to agree how to add indications of versions so it's consistent.
    • How to say something does not exist or has changed from a later version: Attention note? Example: TrackLastPatronActivity
    • How to say something is new from a specific version: Admonition note re-titled Version note? Examples: TrackLastPatronActivityTriggers and SIP2SortBinMapping (scroll down to the Mapping examples. There, ahem, may be more formatting corrections to make in the Use case!!)
    • How to highlight these two notes: Caroline is proposing some CSS changes so the Version note has a different colour to other notes. Check out her amazing rainbow of Koha Manual notes (posted in Bug 29712)
    • Do we need anything else?
  2. What's new page: what do we want? How do we want it presented? (see https://gitlab.com/koha-community/koha-manual/-/merge_requests/747)
    • Caroline started a page so we have a croncrete example to start from (it is published but not part of the Manual menus yet).
  3. Note: we did not have time to cover this section in the meeting; it has been postponed to the next one. What belongs where: this is the question of what belongs in the Manual and what should go in the Wiki (Aude on behalf of others)
    • We have had several questions about this recently. It would be good to not only clarify the Manual / Wiki situation but also review what we want the Manual to feature more of in the future (e.g. examples, use cases, workflows...)

Ongoing projects - updates

  • Automated screenshots
  • One manual (to rule them all) - Bug 34955
  • Re-organising the manual (David Nind) - Bug 32391: merge request to come very shortly (got distracted on some non-Koha tasks...)
  • Migration to Weblate (Joubu)

  • Planning meetings for the next cycle. Aude is tentatively proposing the following:
    • No meeting end of December (unless anyone wants to raise a glass for a happy new Koha year)
