Proposal for a Koha Software Foundation: (it should really be an association not a foundation)
1. Name: Koha Software Foundation
2. Purposes:
a. gathering all developers, users and other contributors in an autonomous association united voluntarily to meet their common economic, social, and cultural needs and aspirations through a jointly-owned and democratically-controlled enterprise.
b. providing appropriately for the long term governance of the Koha Project; (that is, the sum of a) all public activities performed for the intentional benefit of the Koha Software and b) all acquired Property relating to the Koha Software);
c. coordinating the continuing development of Koha Software (that is, the software known as the Koha Integrated Library Management System originally developed for Horowhenua Library Trust, further developed by the Koha Community and distributed from the website maintained by the Koha Community);
d. serving as a coordinating body of open and transparent communication between and among members of the Koha Community (that is, those individuals and entities with a present active interest in the Koha Software or the Koha Project)
e. caring for any or all Property of the Koha Project, including that transferred from Horowhenua Library Trust Koha Committee or developers;
f. maintaining Koha Software as free and open source software (FOSS);
