Binding loose issues
Background
For easier management of loose issues, allow for a set of issues to be bound into a volume. The bound volume will have its own accession number that will be used for circulation purposes. Accession numbers if any on an individual loose issue becomes redundant and must not be available for use in circulation.
Process
Staff will manually select the issues that need to be bound into a volume. They may select issues for a month, quarter or a full year. A new barcode number must by assigned to this bound volume. The barcode may be auto-generated depending on the value in the system preference "autobarcode".
Circulation
The new barcode will be used for check-outs and check-ins. Barcodes if available in any of the loose issues must not be available for circulation.
