Since 2020, conferences must be either:
- hybrid with an in-person conference streamed online, or
- entirely online.
For hybrid conferences, the rules for continent rotation apply. Therefore, for 2024, the following continents are eligible:
Update 2023-06-07: All continents are eligible as there were no proposals within the first bidding period.

- Asia
- South America
- Oceania
If a fully online conference is proposed, the continent can host a hybrid conference in future years.

Known for it's rich and diverse culture, the city of Montreal is one of the largest in Canada, and the largest French-speaking city in North America. Montreal's welcoming and inclusive spirit, coupled with its passion for art, language, and cuisine, make it a captivating destination.
Destinations
Montreal is full of fun places to visit, there is something for all interests and budgets. Museums, festivals, parks, amusement parks, shopping, and a plethora of other activities await locals and tourists alike.
While there is much to do in Montreal, for those planning an extended visit, other Canadian cities are easily accessible by car, bus, or trainː
- Québec city (around 3 hours from Mtl), the capital of the province of Québec and oldest european-colonized city in Canada
- Ottawa (around 2 hours from Mtl), the capital of Canada
- Toronto (around 6 hours from Mtl), the capital of the province of Ontario and largest city in Canada
